This year, the ADA Health Screening Program is available by appointment only to clinical dental professionals who are registered for the annual session in Honolulu. HSP appointments are available from 6 a.m.-1 p.m. Oct. 1-3 in the Hibiscus Ballroom 1 at the Ala Moana Hotel.

The HSP offers up to 10 free professional services including blood chemistry and hepatitis C screening. Optional screenings such as cholesterol screenings, a thyroid-stimulating hormone test and a bone density scan are available for a nominal cost.

Some results from the HSP may be used in salivary diagnostics research in collaboration with Dr. David Wong of the University of California at Los Angeles School of Dentistry.
