The HSP will also offer a continuing education course, Screening for Cardiovascular Disease and Diabetes (courses 7205 and 7215, from 7:30-10 a.m. and 11:30 a.m.-2 p.m., respectively, Oct. 4).

The HSP offers up to 10 free professional services including blood chemistry and hepatitis C screening. Optional screenings such as cholesterol screenings, a thyroid-stimulating hormone test and a bone density scan are available for a nominal cost.

Some results from the HSP may be used in salivary diagnostics research in collaboration with Dr. David Wong of the University of California at Los Angeles School of Dentistry.
