House of Delegates mega topic session explores united tripartite
The 2013 HOD mega topic session will explore the topic Survive and Thrive: The Vision of a United Tripartite.
"The challenges of sustaining member value during a time of unprecedented technological change and advancing consumer expectations requires us to have a thoughtful conversation about how to remain relevant to future generations of dentists," said Dr. David Neumeister, a member of the Mega Topic Advisory Committee.
"After more than 150 years of ADA history, can we stand back, reflect and together find a better way to offer consistent membership value across all sizes and levels of organizational structure? It is your Association. Come join in the conversation."
Speakers scheduled to participate include William Pawlucy, Association Options, LLC; and Wendy-Jo Toyama, senior vice president, ADA Membership, Tripartite Relations and Marketing.
The format, as in the past, will feature table discussions during which delegates will discuss the issues and information in small, facilitated groups following the presentations. A compilation of table discussion results will be posted later on the HOD site on ADA Connect, available to House of Delegates members.
District trustees will distribute tickets to participating delegates during pre-annual session caucuses. Participants must be ticketed delegates or their ticketed alternates—if a delegate is unable to participate—and a small group of representatives from the specialty organizations. A limited number of spaces will be available for observers to attend, but only ticketed delegates or their ticketed alternates will participate in the discussion.
Delegates should arrive a few minutes early for seating so that the discussion can begin on time. They also should bring their "Backgrounder for the House of Delegates 2013 Mega Topic Discussion," a document distributed in August and available on ADA Connect in the HOD Supplemental Information library.
