Articles are available from over 600 journal titles received by the Library, subject to copyright restrictions.
Delivery by email, mail or fax. Articles available in black & white only.
ADA members, please provide as much information as possible using our journal request form (PDF file/40k ), or through
Loansome Doc. Three articles or less may be requested by phone. Large orders will be accepted;
20 articles will be sent per week.

Members can receive journal articles electronically. Requested articles are scanned into PDF format. Members receive an e-mail link to the article that remains accessible for up to five downloads or two weeks.
Quality comparable to photocopy, better than fax. Color copies not available.

Brief Reference Assistance |
Many simple reference questions can be answered in one phone call, at no charge. (Definitions, terminology, fact checking, verification of a journal citation, etc.) |
Reference Packages (Members only) |
Reference librarians can create a package of recent dental journal articles specific to a member’s information needs on any clinical, research, or practice management topic. Usually 6-8 articles, depending on the subject. ( Phone requests only.) |
Historical and Biographical Reference |
Our archivist can answer questions on the history of dentistry and of the ADA using our extensive historical resources. |

The Library houses the ADA Archives containing the historical records and publications of the Association. |

Library staff can assist members by phone in using various online resources. We can help you to navigate ADA.org, execute an effective search strategy in MEDLINE/PubMed, or identify other useful health information web sites. |

Journal articles and books may be requested by other health science libraries using DOCLINE or OCLC. Requests from non-health science libraries accepted on case-by-case basis. DOCLINE libraries please pay for ILLS through the Electronic Funds Transfer System (EFTS) of the National Networks of Libraries of Medicine (NN/LM). |

The Library may be used by anyone with appropriate information needs during normal business hours. We encourage on-site use by ADA and ASDA members. |

Local and visiting ADA and ASDA members, nonmember dentists, dental society staff, and other librarians are invited to visit the library for a brief tour. Tours of other parts of the Headquarters building are also available to members. You can take always take a Virtual Tour of the ADA Library:
