A festive crowd of 225 guests donned black-tie and contributed nearly $15,000 to the ADA Foundation during the ADA Sesquicentennial Celebration in Chicago June 13, one of several events taking place this year to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the Association.
"This truly was a special evening," said Dr. Walter F. Lamacki, chair of the ADA Sesquicentennial Committee. "I'm thankful that so many of the invited guests made it even more special by contributing in honor of the sesquicentennial to the ADA Foundation, which has earmarked those funds for initiatives that support oral health education."
Activities and events surrounding the sesquicentennial culminate during annual session Oct. 2 at the Waikiki Shell in Honolulu, where all members are invited to attend "Evening Under the Stars."
Sponsors of the ADA's celebratory year are AXA-Equitable, Cadbury, Colgate-Palmolive Co., Delta Dental Plans Association, Dentsply International, Great-West Life, Henry Schein Inc., Johnson & Johnson, Procter & Gamble, Ritz-Carlton Chicago, Sunstar Americas Inc., and Wm. Wrigley Jr. Co.
