American Dental Association Announces Online Continuing Education Program
Some 60 peer-reviewed courses available now, more to be added this fall
CHICAGO, July 24, 2006—The American Dental Association (ADA) launched its continuing education (CE) program online this month for dental professionals, with an initial offering of nearly 60 peer-reviewed courses.
General dentists, specialists, hygienists, dental assistants and team members can earn CE credits through the new ADA CE Online program. An additional 40 courses will be available online this fall.
"What sets 'ADA CE Online' apart from other programs is the rigorous peer-review process each course is subjected to prior to our making them available," says Robert M. Brandjord, D.D.S., ADA president. "All of our courses are reviewed by an editorial board and address current topics faced by dental professionals."
"The ADA is dedicated to providing high-quality, learning programs that advance the practice of dentistry and make for a more positive patient experience," says James B. Bramson, D.D.S., ADA executive director. "We believe 'ADA CE Online' is a valuable tool for dental professionals, helping them stay up-to-date in today's dynamic practice environment."
The ADA online learning system's design provides access to courses using the Microsoft Internet Explorer browser for enrollees whether using a 56k dial-up Internet connection or high-speed connectivity.
Priced at $28 per CE hour for ADA members and $42 per hour for non-members, enrollees have access to courses all day, each day of the year and one year to complete them. Upon successful completion of a course, enrollees earn continuing education credit. Potential enrollees should check with their state dental licensing board to determine those courses acceptable for licensure purposes.
