American Dental Association Opens Registration for 148th Annual Session in San Francisco

CHICAGO, April 23, 2007—Registration is now open for the American Dental Association’s (ADA) 148th Annual Session and World Marketplace Exhibition, to be held at San Francisco’s Moscone Convention Center, September 27-29. To conveniently register online, visit www.ada.org/goto/session
New Educational Formats for 2007
The ADA Annual Session offers more than 300 relevant and topical continuing education courses, the majority of which are free with registration.
New for 2007 is a unique learning format, “Education in the Round,” that uses an interactive, multi-media format to teach cutting-edge dental techniques.
The new Refinement Series offers eight advanced-level workshops and lectures on a variety of topics. Also new for 2007 are eight new educational tracks designed to help new dentists, dental assistants, dental hygienists and women dental professionals make the most of their Annual Session experience. Tracks also will be available on topics such as emerging soft tissue health issues, aesthetic dentistry, and oral longevity and healthy aging.
Barbara Walters, Lance Armstrong Headline Distinguished Speaker Series
Registered attendees receive free entry to ADA General Sessions, featuring the Distinguished Speaker Series sponsored by Johnson & Johnson Oral Health Products. On Friday morning, Sept. 28, Barbara Walters will share experiences gleaned from her more than 25 years as host or co-host of ABC News’ “20/20,” numerous “Barbara Walters Specials” and “The View.” Saturday morning Lance Armstrong, seven-time winner of the Tour de France and one of the most celebrated and charismatic contributors to the world of sports, will take the audience along for the ride as he shares his renowned passion and drive for bicycling--and the fight against cancer.
World Marketplace Exhibition features thousands of products, services
Also included with registration is entry into the World Marketplace Exhibition in its new schedule: Thursday, September 27 through Saturday, September 29. The World Marketplace features thousands of products and services from more than 700 leading dental dealers and manufacturers. It also offers a New Product Showcase, contests, give-aways and special show discounts. As an added bonus for this year, one (1) ADA CERP continuing education unit is available to earn by simply being in attendance..
Now in its second year, Satellite Symposia will be presented by dental manufacturers on Wednesday, September 26. These Satellite Symposia feature the latest research and educational programs, direct from the companies that created them.
ADA offers exclusive “Evening with Billy Crystal”
In an exclusive engagement for attendees of the Annual Session, the ADA presents “An Evening with Billy Crystal” on Saturday, September 29. Known and loved worldwide as a comedian, movie star, playwright and seven-time host of the Oscars, Billy Crystal will take the stage in Moscone West, Level 1 at 8:30pm. Ticket prices range from $75 to $150 and must be purchased at the same time to ensure parties are seated together.
