Registration Opens for ADA’s 150th Annual Session in Hawaii

150th ADA Anniversary celebration, cutting-edge technology, learning opportunities

CHICAGO, April 9, 2009—Dentists and dental professionals can register now for the American Dental Association's (ADA) 150th Annual Session and World Marketplace Exhibition, held in Honolulu's Hawaii Convention Center from Sept. 30 through Oct. 4. Online registration is available at www.ada.org/goto/session.

"This year's Annual Session continues its great tradition of bringing unique learning opportunities, cutting-edge technology, and the newest and most popular dental products and services," said Dr. Robert Skinner, 2009 chair of the Council on ADA Sessions. "We're also excited to have Academy-award winning actor Sidney Poitier, who will serve as our 'Distinguished Speaker'."

Access to innovative learning, leading technology and marketplace of ideas

The ADA Annual Session offers attendees the choice of more than 180 relevant and topical continuing education courses, the majority of which are free with registration. Registration also includes entrance into the World Marketplace Exhibition, featuring more than 350 of the leading suppliers of dental products and services, and access to the acclaimed "Distinguished Speaker Series."

"Join us in Hawaii to take advantage of these outstanding offerings, help observe the 150th anniversary of the ADA and, at the same time, celebrate the accomplishments of our great profession," urged Dr. Skinner.

The ADA's Opening General Session takes place on Wednesday, September 30 at 5:30 p.m. at the Waikiki Shell and features Sidney Poitier, the "2009 Distinguished Speaker," along with Hawaiian cultural performances and a special tribute to the ADA's 150th anniversary.

Poitier, an Academy Award-winning actor is a writer, director, and diplomat (Bahamas' ambassador to Japan and UNESCO). He has been a political and artistic trailblazer for more than half a century. Johnson & Johnson Healthcare Products Division of McNEIL-PPC, Inc., is sponsor of the "Distinguished Speaker Series."

Annual Session festivities to culminate ADA's 150th birthday celebration
