Volunteer Test Constructor Information

The Department of Testing Services (DTS) is a shared service of the American Dental Association that provides psychometric and test development services for examination programs within the dental and dental hygiene professions.  DTS seeks volunteers who are willing to serve as Test Constructors in support of critical examination programs. Test constructors are responsible for developing test questions that are clear, accurate, and targeted towards the purpose of their corresponding examination program. Question development takes place in accordance with established test specifications. Through their work, volunteers can make a significant contribution to the profession.

Applications received now will be collected and applied to the appropriate application cycle, with corresponding selection decisions made in the second quarter of 2018. ADAT and DAT volunteer Test Constructor applications are open throughout the year. Please read the selection criteria and orientation manual under General Information below to learn more about becoming a volunteer member.
