By David Burger

Georgia night: Centennial Olympic Park in downtown Atlanta celebrated its 20th anniversary in 2016 and is the state’s lasting legacy of having hosted the 1996 Summer Olympics. The park is steps away from the Georgia World Congress Center, the site of ADA 2017.

"We are so glad you're able to join us in the beautiful city of Atlanta," said Dr. Gary L. Roberts, ADA president, and Dr. David J. Fulton, Jr., the chair of the Committee on Annual Meetings, in a joint statement to attendees. "If you haven't visited in a while, you will notice new attractions, restaurants and shopping around every corner. We hope you are able to take time and explore what's new in Atlanta. Get ready for four exciting, education-packed days dedicated and tailored to you — the dental professional. With hundreds of continuing education offerings, you're bound to find courses that fit your interests and endeavors. We've teamed up with leading clinicians and educators who are prepared to showcase the newest techniques, treatments and technology."

They continued: "With the New Dentist Conference and over 100 related dental meetings being held in conjunction with the ADA annual meeting, this is your time to learn, meet and collaborate. This is where the world of dentistry comes together."

The Oct. 19-23 meeting features more than 250 CE courses between today and Sunday; more than 500 exhibitors in the Exhibit Hall; a variety of special events; networking opportunities; and the annual House of Delegates meeting.

One highlight should be Friday evening at the Distinguished Speaker Series featuring football legend Peyton Manning. The event, presented by ACT Oral Care, will commence at 5:30 p.m.

Attendees should make some time to explore the city and area that boasts Southern charm and world-class sophistication. Attractions include the Georgia Aquarium, World of Coca-Cola, Fernbank Museum of Natural History, Centennial Olympic Park, CNN studio tours and more. For sports fans, Georgia Tech plays Wake Forest on Saturday in its homecoming game. Find detailed information on local attractions, dining, shopping and transportation at
