DRB Student Loan will now be known as Laurel Road

We have some exciting news to share with you! On January 15th, 2018, Darien Rowayton Bank became Laurel Road Bank.

Why is DRB rebranding?

Over the past two years, we have grown our customer base, enhanced our technology, and expanded our product set, to offer personalized financial solutions which include both lending and deposit products. We are proud of the progress we’ve made in our local bank branches in Darien, Rowayton and Southport, CT. We are also proud to be one of the most significant lenders in online student loan refinancing. For this reason, we’ve decided to unify under one brand which stands for customer commitment and determination.

What does the name Laurel Road represent?

The name embodies both the journey (i.e. “Road”) it takes for our customers to achieve their life goals and the inherent satisfaction once those goals are earned (i.e. “Laurel”).

On what date will Darien Rowayton Bank become Laurel Road Bank?

The new name became effective as of January 15, 2018. Customers will see changes through the first half of the year with the new name change, with most changes occurring before March 30, 2018.

  • What exactly does a rebrand entail?

The change to Laurel Road includes a new name, logo, website, creative assets and customer communications which reflect the Laurel Road brand. Laurel Road will continue to maintain community bank branches in Darien, Rowayton, and Southport, CT and will be the legal entity for all loans underwritten by the bank.

  • What does this rebrand not mean?

Fundamentally, our core business has not changed. Our leadership team, operations, and reporting structure remain the same, and we continue to provide customers with a best-in-class experience during their journey to serve all of their banking needs.

What does this mean for me as a customer

Laurel Road is the name of your bank now. Your account numbers remain unchanged and the terms of your loan remain the same.

Our servicing website is laurelroad.mohela.com. You can continue to submit your student loan payments through MOHELA, and if you have automatic payments set up, there is no need to make any changes.

Will the terms of my loan remain the same? Will I continue to receive a member benefit from Laurel Road?

Yes. Nothing about the terms of your loan has changed due to the rebrand.

What do I do with my current debit card and check book?

As early as April, you will receive a new Laurel Road debit card and checkbook. Please note that your existing debit card and checks will continue to work throughout our update and until you activate your new card and checks.

Who will be my lender after the rebrand? DRB or Laurel Road?

Your lender is now Laurel Road Bank. You will receive student loan statements from Laurel Road Bank.

Do I need new login details to your online portals?

Your login details for the DRB portals and systems that you are registered for remain exactly as they were. Enter them into the Laurel Road version of the portal to gain access.

Have your email addresses changed?

Any emails from the bank will have the Laurel Road name as we update our systems to reflect the new name. Instead of receiving emails from drbank.com, you will receive any servicing emails from the new domain, laurelroad.com.
