  • 2011 ADA Annual Session returns to Las Vegas: “The Future of Dentistry Meets Here”

    The American Dental Association (ADA) invites all dentists and dental professionals to attend the 152nd Annual Session and World Marketplace Exhibition, to be held at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center from Oct. 10-13.  Registration for the meeting will open on April 6.

  • American Dental Association Thanks Senate and Sen. Stabenow for Passage of 1099 Relief Provision

    Washington, D.C., Feb. 3, 2011 -The American Dental Association today commended Sen. Debbie Stabenow's (D-Mich.) leadership in bringing about the Senate's unanimous vote to relieve dentists and other small employers from a law that would require filing of IRS 1099 forms for any exchange of goods or services valued at $600 or more in a year.  The requirement is a provision in last year's health reform law that the ADA and others believe did not reflect the intent of Congress or the President.

  • NASN Teams Up with the American Dental Association on Oral Health Awareness Campaign

    The National Association of School Nurses (NASN) and the American Dental Association (ADA) have teamed up to support school nurses in their efforts to promote awareness of oral health in schools. The 2011 campaign, Empowering School Nurses to Change Oral Health Perceptions, is funded by a $160,000 grant to NASN from the DentaQuest Foundation. The campaign, which will be primarily web-based and free to the public, will be launched this summer.

    The American Dental Association (ADA) recently announced the appointment of Sabrina A. King as its managing vice president for Human Resources/Organizational Development effective Jan. 18. As leader of the ADA's Human Resources Department, King's responsibilities will include providing strategic guidance to the executive staff regarding key organizational, employee and management issues.

    Two multi-disciplinary expert panels, convened by the American Dental Association (ADA) Council on Scientific Affairs, issued reports containing clinical recommendations on children's fluoride intake from infant formula and prescription fluoride supplements.
