Georgia Dentist Installed as American Dental Association Trustee

CHICAGO, Oct. 23, 2017 – John F. Harrington, Jr., D.D.S, a dentist practicing in Milledgeville, Georgia, was recently installed as a trustee of the American Dental Association (ADA). Dr. Harrington’s installation took place in Atlanta, Georgia, at the ADA’s 158th Annual Meeting.

Dr. Harrington will serve on the ADA Board of Trustees as the trustee from the Fifth District, which encompasses Alabama, Georgia and Mississippi. The ADA Board of Trustees formulates and reviews policies and programs and makes recommendations to the members of the ADA’s governing body, the House of Delegates. As a member of the ADA Board of Trustees, Dr. Harrington will play a major role in the organization’s objective to be America’s leading advocate for oral health.

Dr. Harrington has been a member of the ADA since 1984 and has been a member of the House of Delegates since 2008. He served on the Council on Government Affairs from 2012 to 2016. He is also a member of the Georgia Dental Association, where he has served in a number of capacities including as president, vice president, a member of the Board of Trustees and on several committees. Dr. Harrington is also involved with numerous other dental organizations, including the Academy of General Dentistry, the Pierre Fauchard Academy, the American College of Dentists, the International College of Dentists, the Georgia Academy of Dental Practice and the Central District Dental Society.

Dr. Harrington graduated from the Emory University School of Dentistry in 1984 and served in the United States Air Force Dental Corps from 1984 to 1987 and in the Georgia Army National Guard from 1988 to 2005. He currently practices dentistry in Milledgeville.
