Maryland Dentist Installed as American Dental Association Trustee

CHICAGO, Oct. 23, 2017 – George R. Shepley, D.D.S., M.A.G.D., a dentist practicing in Baltimore, Maryland, was recently installed as a trustee of the American Dental Association (ADA). Dr. Shepley’s installation took place in Atlanta, Georgia, at the ADA’s 158th Annual Meeting.

Dr. Shepley will serve on the ADA Board of Trustees as the trustee from the Fourth District, which encompasses Delaware, the District of Columbia, Maryland, New Jersey, Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands. The ADA Board of Trustees formulates and reviews policies and programs and makes recommendations to the members of the ADA’s governing body, the House of Delegates. As a member of the ADA Board of Trustees, Dr. Shepley will play a major role in the organization’s objective to be America’s leading advocate for oral health.

Dr. Shepley is an active member of the Maryland State Dental Association (MSDA), serving as its president from 2013 to 2014, and is a current member of the MSDA Foundation, MSDA Dental Association Company Board and the MSDA Member Legislative Committee. Dr. Shepley is also involved with a number of other dental organizations, including the Academy of General Dentistry, the Maryland Academy of General Dentistry and the Baltimore City Dental Society, of which he was president in 2005. 

Dr. Shepley graduated from the West Virginia University School of Dentistry in 1977. He has practiced dentistry in Baltimore since 1978.
