California Dentist Installed as American Dental Association Trustee

CHICAGO — James D. Stephens, D.D.S., a dentist practicing in Palo Alto, California, was recently installed as a trustee of the American Dental Association (ADA). Dr. Stephens’ installation took place in Honolulu at ADA 2018 – America’s Dental Meeting. 

Dr. Stephens will serve on the ADA Board of Trustees as the trustee from the Thirteenth District, which encompasses California. The ADA Board of Trustees formulates and reviews policies and programs and makes recommendations to the members of the ADA’s governing body, the House of Delegates. As a member of the ADA Board of Trustees, Dr. Stephens will play a major role in the organization’s objective to be America’s leading advocate for oral health.

Dr. Stephens has been a member of the ADA since 1982 and has served in its House of Delegates since 2007. He is also involved with numerous other dental organizations, including the California Dental Association, Mid-Peninsula Dental Society, American College of Dentists, International College of Dentists and the Pierre Fauchard Academy. In addition to serving as president and trustee for the California Dental Association, he served as president, trustee and communications chair for the Mid-Peninsula Dental Society.

Dr. Stephens graduated from the University of the Pacific School of Dentistry in 1982. He currently practices dentistry in Palo Alto.
