Texas Dentist Installed as American Dental Association Trustee

CHICAGO — Craig S. Armstrong, D.D.S., a dentist practicing in Houston was recently installed as a trustee of the American Dental Association (ADA). Dr. Armstrong’s installation took place in San Francisco at the ADA FDI World Dental Congress 2019. 

Dr. Armstrong will serve on the ADA Board of Trustees as the trustee from the Fifteenth District, which represents Texas. The ADA Board of Trustees formulates and reviews policies and programs and makes recommendations to the members of the ADA’s governing body, the House of Delegates. As a member of the ADA Board of Trustees, Dr. Armstrong will play a major role in the organization’s objective to be America’s leading advocate for oral health. 

Dr. Armstrong has held a number of leadership positions within the ADA. Since 2002, he has been an alternate delegate and delegate in the ADA House of Delegates. He was also chair of the ADA Reference Committee in 2015. He is a member of the Texas Dental Association, the Greater Houston Dental Society, the Academy of General Dentistry and the Texas Academy of General Dentistry. In 2015, Dr. Armstrong was the president of the Texas Dental Association, and he was also the president of the Greater Houston Dental Society in 2004 and the Texas Academy of General Dentistry in 2010.

Dr. Armstrong graduated from the UTHealth School of Dentistry in 1989. In 2015, he was named then Texas Dentist of the Year by the Academy of General Dentistry.
