What is an ADA e-Book?
The ADA offers electronic versions of its most popular books. The e-Books have the same content and images as the print book, but you’ll be able to access the book from any device using an internet browser.
How can I access my ADA e-Book?
Once you’ve completed your order, you will see a link to the e-Bookshelf
on the Order Confirmation page. There you will find your book. You will also receive the e-Bookshelf link in your confirmation email.
How long will it take to receive my e-Book?
You can access your e-Book immediately after completing your order.
Is there a limit on the number of devices from which I can read my e-Book?
There is no limit on the number of devices.
Do I need to purchase multiple copies of my e-Book to read it on multiple devices?
No, you only need to order the selected e-Book once to read it anywhere and anytime.
Can I read books from the ADA’s new platform on my Kindle, Nook or other e-Reader?
If your device has an internet connection to a web browser, you may be able to access your e-Book depending on the technical capabilities of your e-Reader. Please note that some of the more basic Kindle and Nook devices do not offer a web-browsing feature.
What are the technical requirements needed to access the e-Book?
ADA e-Books will work on most computers, tablets, and smartphones. Your device must have web browsing capabilities to read ADA e-Books.
I ordered a print and e-Book bundle. How will I receive my order?
You can access your e-Book immediately after completing your order on your e-Bookshelf. Your print copy will be shipped and will arrive in 3-6 business days for books that are in-stock.
Will I still have access to the e-Books that I ordered before June 1, 2017?
You do still have access to the e-Books that you ordered and downloaded using Adobe Digital Editions.
Can I search for words or terms in the e-Book?
Yes, you can search the e-Book easily from the Title of Contents page. On the left panel, there’s a search tool where you can enter a keyword and find a topic quickly.
Can I download my ADA e-Books to my device to read offline?
ADA e-Books cannot be downloaded. However, you can access your e-Books on any device with an internet connection and internet browser.
Can I print my ADA e-Book?
Yes, you can print out one page at a time.
Can I share e-Book content with other people?
Yes, you can share pages or images on Facebook, Twitter, Google+ or via email. Go to the page that you would like to share and select the “Share” icon from the bottom of the left panel.
Will I be able to view or stream videos that are included in ADA e-Books?
If the e-Book includes a video, you will be able to stream. An internet connection is required.
If my e-Book includes a CE test, how will I be able to complete the test?
You can download the attachment for the CE test, print it, take the test, and mail with a check for $20 to the American Dental Association, Product Development & Sales, 211 East Chicago Ave., Chicago, IL 60611.
Alternatively, you can email a scanned copy of the test back to us, and then call 1.800.947.4746
with your credit card payment.
Some of the CE tests are available online. Once you’ve ordered the e-Book or book, you can take the online test
