ADA CE Online course details occlusal disease diagnosis

April 09, 2012

Occlusal disease has the potential to compromise a patient’s dentition and dental treatment. The ability to diagnose occlusal disease is the focus of a new course on ADA CE Online, Seven Signs and Symptoms of Occlusal Disease.

Dr. Ruiz

“I use the term occlusal disease to refer to a pathological bite or occlusion that is destroying a patient’s dentition and causing multiple symptoms,” said Dr. Jose-Luis Ruiz, author of the course. “Understanding and using the seven signs and symptoms of occlusal disease as a diagnostic tool allows us to recognize this disease, educate patients and set them on the path toward disease management.”

Using Dr. Ruiz’s “Three Golden Rules of Occlusion,” dentists can increase treatment acceptance and restoration longevity.

Those taking the course will earn one unit of continuing education credit upon completion. Members receive a discounted course fee of only $38.

Dr. Ruiz is a researcher, published author, director of the Los Angeles Institute of Esthetic Dentistry and director for continuing education courses at the University of Southern California.

ADA CE Online is for general dentists, specialists and dental team members.

The site features a comprehensive library of courses, automated grading and secure credit card payment, with special pricing available to ADA members. Log on at
