HOD mega topic discussion Oct. 19
August 20, 2012
San Francisco—The ADA will hold the ninth interactive mega topic discussion session Oct. 19 from 12:30-2:30 p.m. in the San Francisco Marriott Marquis meeting rooms Yerba Buena Salon 9 during Annual Session.
This year’s House of Delegates mega topic session will examine “Oral Health Care in Five Years. Who Pays For It and How Will It Impact the Practice of Dentistry and the Profession?”
“This is a topic that will affect the profession and our patients,” said Dr. J. Thomas Soliday, ADA speaker. “The mega topic discussion gives the House of Delegates the opportunity to provide a broad range of thinking as the Association plans for its future.”
As in the past, the format will feature small table discussions. Scheduled speakers include: Dr. Jane Grover, Dr. Ron Inge, Tim Rogan, Dr. Chris Salierno, Dr. Rick Workman and Marko Vujicic, Ph.D. The results of the table discussions will be compiled by the consultant facilitator and posted by ADA on the House of Delegates site on ADA Connect.
Participants must be ticketed delegates or their alternates. The district trustees will distribute tickets to delegates during the pre-annual session caucuses. If a delegate is not able to participate, the ticket may be given to an alternate delegate. A limited number of spaces will be available for others to attend as observers; however an actual discussion participant must be a ticketed delegate or ticketed alternate.
Delegates should bring their “Backgrounder for the House of Delegates 2012 Mega Topic Discussion” document, which was distributed in August and available on ADA Connect in the the HOD Supplemental Information library. Participants are encouraged to arrive a few minutes early so all can be seated and the discussion can begin promptly.
