AAAHC reduces accreditation fee for small practices

Skokie, Ill.—The Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care has reduced its accreditation fee for smaller dental practices.

The AAAHC says the new accreditation program is priced to be cost-effective for smaller dental practices and is tailored to practices that offer office-based surgery.

The AAAHC reduced its accreditation fees to reflect the smaller size of office-based surgery organizations compared to ambulatory surgery centers. At $3,500, the accreditation includes a $775 application fee and a $2,725 fee for the on-site survey and related activities. All subsequent surveys cost $3,500.

The AAAHC defines an office-based surgery center as an organization that has no more than four dentists and no more than two operating or procedure rooms. The Accreditation Handbook for Office-Based Surgery with Review Guidelines is a tool that gives office-based surgery organizations a clearer understanding of how compliance with each of the standards will be assessed.

The AAAHC has accredited more than 5,000 organizations nationwide in ambulatory health care. AAAHC accredits ambulatory surgery centers, office-based surgery centers, college student health centers, managed care organizations, military health care clinics, large medical and dental practices and medical homes.
