The University of Florida College of Dentistry will continue to offer a program intended to help dentists increase their executive-level practice management skills.
The university and the Association agreed to promote the Executive Practice Management Certificate Program for Dentists on the ADA's Center for Professional Success, which is scheduled to launch this fall. Through a Web-based portal, CPS will provide support to dentists so they can succeed and excel throughout their careers. The University of Florida program will be tied to CPS as one of several opportunities for member dentists to expand their knowledge through online and in-person dental practice business certificate programs.
The University of Florida program will cover finance, practice operations, compliance, human resources, and sales and marketing. The course will also tackle buying or building a practice, becoming an associate, debt reduction through overhead control and wealth accumulation for practice transitions.
The 13-month program begins in October and includes monthly weekend face-to-face meetings in Orlando plus a supplemental online Web course.
The classes will be small, with between 15-25 dentists receiving hands-on customized assistance. Topics are divided into 13 modules, with one module taught one weekend per month.
The University of Florida is an ADA Continuing Education Recognition Program recognized provider, and students who enroll can receive up to 186 hours of CE. Those who are accepted must be practicing, actively licensed dentists, newly graduated dentists or graduating dentists in dental school.
ADA members will receive a $500 discount on tuition. Enrollment for the program, which begins in October, is now open. For more information, visit epmfordentists.com.
