September 03, 2013

White coat oath: Chanan Lerer, a member of the inaugural class of Rutgers School of Dental Medicine, pledges to uphold the integrity of the dental profession during an Aug. 28 white coat ceremony at the Newark, N.J., Rutgers Biomedical Health Sciences campus. Mr. Lerer and 90 other members of the class of 2017 signed the Rutgers School of Dental Medicine Code of Professional Conduct and Ethics after being cloaked by the presidents of each of the RSDM current classes. Twenty-five students from RSDM's Internationally Trained Dentist program and members of the Class of 2015 joined the inaugural class in making the pledge. The white coat ceremony was the first since the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey-New Jersey Dental School became Rutgers School of Dental Medicine
