San Antonio — Group practice models are the focus of the Council on Dental Practice's forum this year at ADA 2014—America's Dental Meeting, which has an updated speaker list.

Understanding Group Practice Models: Each Practice Model Can Be a Model Practice (course 6368) is scheduled for 8:30-11 a.m. Oct. 10 in room Bonham B at the Grand Hyatt San Antonio, 600 E. Market St., next to the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center. The forum, where participants can earn up to 2.5 hours of continuing education credit, is free but all courses require tickets and must be reserved through the online registration system.

"If you have to attend a panel discussion at ADA 2014, this is the one," said Dr. Kevin Sessa, CDP chair. "We encourage dentists, dental students, educators, practice management professionals, dental team members and anybody else interested in the changing pattern of oral health care delivery systems to come hear what this expert panel has to say."

The six-member panel will provide first-hand accounts about practice structure, processes and patient care. CDP member Todd Marshall, a board member of Park Dental, a group practice in Minneapolis, will moderate the forum and panelists come from different classifications of group practices as identified by the ADA.

The featured speakers include: Dr. John E. Gulon, president of Park Dental and member of the Park Dental Board of Directors; Dr. Andrew Matta, founding partner of the North American Dental Group, CEO of the Professional Dental Alliance and chief medical officer of Refresh Dental Management; Dr. Rick Workman, CEO of Heartland Dental Care; Dr. John J. Snyder, dental director and CEO of Permanente Dental Associates and board member for the Kaiser Center for Health Research; Dr. Thomas Veryser, CEO of Michigan Community Dental Clinics Inc.; and Dr. Terry O'Toole, director of dental informatics and analytics for the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs Office of Dentistry.

A Q&A session will follow the panel presentations.
