DGPA announces name change
May 19, 2014
Denver—The Dental Group Practice Association, a nonprofit industry association representing more than 30 dental support organizations, announced May 13 that it changed its name to the Association of Dental Support Organizations.
The organization made the name change to better emphasize its mission and focus to support DSOs, said Dr. Quinn Dufurrena, ADSO executive director.
ADSO provides support to affiliated dental practices with nonclinical functions, including accounting, human resources, legal and marketing. DSOs also help improve practice efficiency, according to ADSO.
"Our mission is to provide world-class business and technology support services to dentists, a partnership that lets dentists focus on what they do best, which is serving their patients," Dr. Dufurrena said.
Today, through the DSOs the group represents, ADSO supports an estimated 7,000 dentists who operate in about 4,000 dental practices.
