Washington, D.C. — Problem solving and a work/life balance are the focuses of two courses at ADA 2015 sponsored by the ADA Center for Professional Success.

Rick Griggs, founder of Griggs Achievement Training and Retreats in Fort Collins, Colorado, will moderate both of the courses, where participants can earn up to 2.5 hours of continuing education hours for no fee. Mr. Griggs invented the technique of rolestorming, where people take on others’ identities in order to brainstorm more creatively.

Rolestorming: Creativity and Problem Solving in Dentistry (course 6320) is scheduled for 8:30-11 a.m. Nov. 6. Mr. Griggs will discuss how he believes brainstorming is dead and the solution is rolestorming, which involves deciding if the issue is a problem, opportunity or inhibitor; examining it; and placing emphasis on creativity and building team camaraderie. His goal is to help dentists learn to create ideas that match the culture of their practices.

Balanced Mastery: Are you Obsessed, Possessed or Blessed? (course 6317) is scheduled for 2-4:30 p.m. Nov. 6. Mr. Griggs will include his Mastery Circle assessment tool, which narrows life priorities to five, diagrams then scores them. He will also discuss the 10 achievement factors that are the top correlations among Olympic athletes, organizational CEOS and those who sustain their accomplishments over long periods of time.
