CareCredit, a provider of patient financing endorsed by ADA Business Resources, is introducing a new CareCredit Certification program, part of a commitment to set the standard for patient education of health care financing options.

Each of the over 100,000 dental practices that accept the CareCredit credit card will be required to complete the new online certification training, which provides a clear, easy-to-understand explanation of the financing options available through CareCredit, and helps ensure that patients are given the most current information.

“CareCredit is committed to providing accurate and transparent information about financing options for patients, so they can make well-informed decisions about how to pay for their care,” said Paul Findly, director of marketing of CareCredit. “We’ve developed this online certification to make it simple and easy for ADA members to become CareCredit certified.”

To continue accepting the CareCredit credit card, at least one person in each practice is required to become CareCredit certified.  Each team member who completes the training will be able to print a certificate to display in the office. Certification takes about 25 minutes to complete and will need to be renewed every two years to ensure that patients are given the most current information.

Training can be started, conveniently paused and resumed to accommodate busy staff schedules. Start training by following these steps: log on to and click CareCredit Training, then Learning Center, then CareCredit Certification.

“CareCredit has worked with dental practices for nearly 30 years, educating and empowering patients about their financial options,” adds Mr. Findly. “This translates into making new CareCredit program requirements understandable to the dental profession and ensuring at least one designated individual in each dental practice, who discusses financing options with patients, will complete the training.”

ADA members with questions about CareCredit Certification can contact the CareCredit Practice Development Team,, or 1-800-859-9975, option 1, then 6.
