High-speed GKAS oral education

November 02, 2015

Driving healthy smiles: Local dentist Dr. Thomas Burns supervises Bryson as he brushes NASCAR driver Jeff Gordon’s teeth for two minutes. Students at Royal Oaks and Wolf Meadow elementary schools were among nearly 1,000 students at two Charlotte, N.C.-area elementary schools participating in a special high-speed ADA Foundation Give Kids A Smile oral health education event Oct. 7. Sponsors included 3M Oral Care, CareCredit, Henry Schein Cares and Arm & Hammer. The ADA Foundation’s GKAS program is an access-to-care program that includes more than 1,500 GKAS events held throughout the year around the country, through which volunteer dentists and their teams provide free dental services to about 350,000 underserved children.
