ADA Business Resources endorses PBHS secure email services

September 07, 2015
ADA Business Resources announced Sept. 2 it endorsed PBHS Inc. as the secure email and collaboration system provider for the Association’s members.

The new endorsement will provide a comprehensive, compliant and affordable secure communication service, which will help member dentists, specialists, staff and patients easily communicate with a Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act compliant environment, according to ADA Business Resources.

“After carefully evaluating and vetting the leading secure communications vendors serving the health care community, PBHS surpassed our rigid qualifications of security, liability, functionality and ease of use,” said Deborah Doherty, managing vice president of ADA Business Resources. “PBHS operates on a business model focused exclusively in the dental space, unlike many of the other candidates we evaluated.”

In addition, PBHS’ secure communication and collaboration services have been reviewed and validated by an outside HIPAA auditor, and “we are thrilled to offer them to our members,” Ms. Doherty added.

“Health information services provider integration services are available upon request,” she said. “As with all other ADA Business Resources endorsed services, immediate help is here should members have any questions or concerns.”

HIPAA regulations require that all patient health care information is protected, and violations may result in penalties and fines. With PBHS’s Secure Email and Collaboration systems, patient data remains encrypted from start to reception. This data is stored and transmitted using secured military-grade encryption, so only recipients can decode message data, documents and radiographs. Through the collaboration platform, general practitioners and specialists have the ability to seamlessly and securely share their patient charts and notes. Patients can even be invited to be part of their treatment discussion when and if it is deemed appropriate.

“HIPAA compliancy is of the utmost importance when sharing or releasing protected health information,” said Jay Levine, PBHS president. “Our mission is to help dentists achieve and maintain compliance within the minefield of data privacy requirements.”

All ADA member accounts are precertified and setup, Mr. Levine said.

“Account initiation is as easy as entering your ADA membership ID number, verifying your practice and creating your first secure email,” he said.

ADA members receive special member pricing and setup fees will be waived on a tiered solution that ranges from $10 per month for a typical secure email solution to $200 per month for enterprise case collaboration. For more information, contact PBHS at 1-855-WEB-4ADA or visit
