Deadline approaches for dental products standard award
August 16, 2017
The ADA is accepting applications until Nov. 1 for the 2017 John W. Stanford New Investigator Award, which highlights the crucial role dental products standards play in patient health and safety and in the efficacy of dental products.
ADA dental student members, ADA members who have earned their dental degree no earlier than 2012 and ADA members pursuing an additional degree or specialty are eligible to apply.
Acceptable application submissions include an original standards-related research report that has been completed within the 2016-17 academic year but not published; a standards-related article that was published within the 2016-17 academic year and a standards-related extended abstract poster developed within the academic year 2016-17.
Submissions must also address in 250 words or less how the research incorporates current dental standards and/or contributes to the development of dental standards.
Recipients of the John W. Stanford award, which is named after the originator of the current ADA standards program, receive a $1,000 honorarium and airfare and a two-night hotel stay to present their paper at the next meeting of the ADA Standards Committee on Dental Products, to be held in March 2018 in Fort Lauderdale, FL.
