Funding opportunity available for fluoridation equipment
January 23, 2017
State dental organizations, oral health coalitions and other groups associated with public community water systems can apply for funding to either replace aging water fluoridation equipment or implement new equipment to fluoridate community water.
The National Association of County and City Health Officials and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention are together offering awards between $2,000 and $35,000. Additionally, grant recipients will receive technical assistance for equipment recommendations, coordination with other entities and other needs.
The one-time funding can be used only for capital improvements associated with purchasing or replacing aging water fluoridation equipment. Applicants in areas that had to cease fluoridation due to funding restraints or have failing or aging equipment and no sufficient funds for replacements are encouraged to apply.
