Atlanta — By the time dentists are reading this, ADA 2017 – America's Dental Meeting is a month away.

It's not too late, however, to register for the annual meeting as many events and activities await.

Dr. Kreutzer
Dr. Chang Pallotte
The Opening General Session, presented by Act Oral Care, kicks off the official meeting on Oct. 19 from 8-9 a.m. Drs. John Gammichia, Jim Kreutzer and Josephine Chang Pallotto will share their personal stories of how dentistry has allowed them to make an impact on their practice, family and community.

This year's ADA Humanitarian, Dr. Usa Bunnag, and Distinguished Service Award recipient, Dr. Patricia L. Blanton, will be recognized for their contributions to the profession at the Opening General Session.

Later that day, the ADA 2017 Block Party will take over the streets around 300 Marietta Street NW from 6-9 p.m. Situated along Restaurant Row, this event is open to all registered attendees. Der Biergarten, Max's Coal Oven Pizzeria, STATS and Twin Smokers BBQ will be serving heavy appetizers and drinks from their menus.

On Oct. 20, the Exhibit Hall will host the Hall Happy Hour, from 4-5 p.m., to get everyone ready for the Distinguished Speaker Series featuring football legend Peyton Manning.

Mr. Manning will be onstage from 5:30-6:30 p.m., and the series is presented by ACT Oral Care. Those enjoying a drink at the happy hour will receive early access to hear Mr. Manning speak.

Immediately after Mr. Manning's engagement is ADA at the Movies at 6:45 p.m. with a screening of the award-winning film "Tommy's Honour."  The film, produced by Dr. Kreutzer, is described as a relationship-driven true story of life, death, love and golf. The film won Best Feature Film at the 2016 British Academy Scotland Awards and was directed by Jason Connery, Sir Sean Connery's son.

That's not all for Friday. The New Dentist Reception, for dentists out of school less than 10 years, will be at Game-X at 275 Baker St. from 7-8:30 p.m. Game-X features specialty cocktails, fast-casual cuisine and high-tech gaming.

All of the events are scheduled around continuing education, as well as the ADA House of Delegates and other happenings worth traveling to Georgia for.
