NHSC 2018 Students to Service applications now available
September 01, 2017
Washington — The National Health Service Corps Students to Service Loan Repayment Program is accepting applications for the 2018 cycle.
The Students to Service program provides up to $120,000 to medical or dental students in their final year of school in return for a commitment to provide primary health care full time for at least three years at an approved NHSC site. Students must be a U.S. citizen or U.S. national and enrolled full-time at an accredited school in the U.S. or its territories. The deadline to apply for the 2018 program is Oct. 19.
By committing to work at a National Health Service Corps site before completing dental school, fourth year dental students have the opportunity to receive additional loan repayment money for which they would not otherwise be eligible. Dentists who apply after graduation are only eligible up to $85,000 in loan repayment for a three-year commitment.
