WVU School of Dentistry
On board for tobacco cessation: Nineteen participants, from various fields in health care, successfully completed in June a program at the West Virginia School of Dentistry that aims to train all types of clinicians to help their patients quit using tobacco. In the fall of 2017, the university became one of 19 education and health institutions to receive accreditation from the Council for Tobacco Treatment Training Programs to implement a certified and multi-faceted program to stop tobacco use and reduce instances of oral cancer. Dr. Susan Morgan, clinical professor at the university and lead of the tobacco treatment program, presents tobacco cessation and addiction information during a session this summer.
