Pontiac, Mich. — St. Joseph Mercy Oakland hospital announced it has more than doubled the size of its dental center and expanded the general dental residency program from three to four residents.
The upgraded facility, which opened in April, has five treatment rooms and provides better access for wheelchair-bound patients.
“The expanded dental center allows us to provide excellent care for our patients while also training the dentists of tomorrow,” said Dr. Craig Spangler, program director of the St. Joe’s Dental Residency Program and chairman of the Division of Dentistry and Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, in a news release. “With the active involvement of our volunteer attending dentists and specialists, we are providing a learning experience that residents won't receive anywhere else.”
