NIDCR seeks comments on oral biodevices research initiative

February 01, 2018 Bethesda, Md. — In response to ideas received for its NIDCR 2030 campaign, the National Institute of Dental and Craniofacial Research is seeking comments on a new research initiative, Accelerating the Development of Oral Biodevices by Advancing Technologies.

In 2017, the agency launched NIDCR 2030, a "strategic visioning initiative designed to advance dental, oral and craniofacial research over the next 15 years." Accelerating the Development of Oral Biodevices by Advancing Technologies is the first installment of what will be a series of proposed research ideas. Initiatives in other topic areas will be posted for public comment once they are developed, NIDCR said on the NIDCR 2030 website.

To comment, NIDCR invites interested parties — dentists, educators and members of the public — to submit and respond to existing comments on the proposed research initiative using IdeaScale. Submitted comments will be reviewed by NIDCR staff for consideration in further developing this proposed research initiative and related funding opportunities.

The deadline for commenting is March 1. Learn more at the NIDCR 2030 webpage or email questions to nidcr2030@nidcr.nih.gov.
