Association's endorsement program changes name to ADA Member Advantage

ADA Business Resources, the Association's managed endorsement program, is now called ADA Member Advantage.
The program announced the name change Jan. 25 as a move to better represent what it is and what it offers to ADA members, said Dr. James Mercer, ADA Member Advantage board chair.
The program continues to endorse business-oriented products and services focused on helping ADA members run an efficient and effective dental office.
"In recent years, the portfolio of endorsements has expanded to include some really popular programs focused on personal products and services," he said.
All endorsed programs offer ADA members preferred pricing. Those programs include credit card processing, appliances for home and office, computers, practice financing, dental websites, credit cards and more.
"Dentists are busy people. The endorsement program exists to do some of the legwork that doctors just might not have the time or resources to do, and that's not changing."
ADA Member Advantage has a system in place that continually evaluates endorsed providers against key criteria to make sure they are serving ADA members well, Dr. Mercer added.
For example, before extending its endorsement to HealthFirst for its amalgam recovery solution, along with the Rebec separator, a team of dentists and scientists reviewed proposed products from companies that had passed the ADA's product review. After the initial review, two finalists were selected and subjected to a deeper review, which included a detailed review of their internal processes, educational materials and financial statements. After HealthFirst was designated the provisional winner, an independent environmental consultant company was hired to visit their site and confirm that their recycling met the standards before the endorsement was finalized.
"We are really picky about who we work with because when we extend the endorsement to a company, we see that as making a commitment to ADA members," said Deborah Doherty, managing director of ADA Member Advantage. "Every day we take calls from members who have questions or are experiencing challenges. We make sure member issues big and small are addressed by someone senior at our endorsed companies."
