Emerging leaders in dental materials research sought for fellowship

Nominations for emerging leaders in dental materials science are sought for the 2018 3M Innovative Research Fellowship.
The fellowship is designed to encourage and engage researchers in advancing dental materials science.
The recipient receives a $10,000 fellowship for two years and is honored at a private ADA event. He or she will also have the opportunity to share their work via a continuing education program and may have the chance to interact with 3M scientists. The ADA sponsors this fellowship with the support of 3M Oral Care.
In 2017, Dr. Nathaniel Lawson, a dentist with Ph.D., earned the inaugural 3M Innovative Research Fellowship. At the time of his win, Dr. Lawson
served as an investigator on 32 research grants with a diverse research portfolio that included biomaterials, tissue engineering and longitudinal outcomes of dental therapies, according his University of Alabama at Birmingham colleagues who nominated him.
To nominate a researcher, submit a letter describing the nominee's research interests and explaining why he or she deserves to be recognized, along with the nominee's curriculum vitae.
