Honolulu – A local philanthropic organization will benefit thanks to the Alliance of the American Dental Association’s service project at ADA 2018 – America’s Dental Meeting, and ADA members are invited to join in the effort.

The Alliance will coordinate the Head 2 Toe Project, which supports a local nonprofit by collecting and distributing oral health care items and other necessities. Alliance members will distribute the items to the Next Step Shelter in Honolulu, an emergency shelter for couples and individuals that provides housing placement help, job training, referrals for health care and more.

Annual meeting attendees can drop off donations of personal hygiene items Oct. 17-19 at the Hawaii Convention Center on the third floor across from room 317. Those who cannot attend the meeting can still donate by mailing items to AADA Head 2 Toe, P.O. Box 1982, Brandon, FL, 33509.

ADA members and those interested in joining the Alliance are invited to the Alliance’s Dental Health Education Luncheon at noon on Oct. 20 at the Moana Surfrider, A Westin Resort & Spa. Visit allianceada.net to register.

For more information about the Head 2 Toe project or the Alliance, contact Lissette Zuknick or Kelsey Bulnes at info@allianceada.org or by calling 1-813-540-2154. A complete list of items being collected for the project is available at AllianceADA.org/head-2-toe-project.
