Still time to register for annual meeting in Hawaii

Honolulu — Loath to say farewell to summer?
By planning a trip to ADA 2018 – America’s Dental Meeting in Hawaii, attendees can stretch out summer a little bit longer and regroup, retreat and reenergize.
In addition to the ocean breezes, sandy beaches and lush vegetation of Oahu Island, the Honolulu meeting from Oct. 18-22 will offer an extensive schedule of events, exhibitors and continuing education.
There is still time to plan a trip to the meeting and the Hawaiian islands. Advanced registration will be available until Sept. 21, at 5 p.m. CDT. Prices for the overall meeting and individual CE courses will be higher after that.
The ADA will bring Broadway to the islands Oct. 18 by kicking off the meeting with a special evening under the stars, starring Tony Award winner Kelli O’Hara. This picnic-style event at the Waikiki Shell will also feature acclaimed Broadway performers Ruthie Ann Miles and Telly Leung, former Miss Universe Brook Lee and the Kamehameha Schools Children’s Chorus. This is a complimentary event, but registration and tickets are required as capacity is limited.
The New Dentist Conference kicks off bright and early each day with morning yoga on the Great Lawn at the Hilton Hawaiian Village. Each day of this conference, designed specifically for new dentists, features innovators and entrepreneurs who will help them grow their business. New dentists will be able to spend time with fellow new dentists at the New Dentist Reception, Oct. 19. from 5-6:30 p.m., where they will connect, mingle and enjoy expanding their network in a fun environment.
Make sure to plan time to visit the Exhibit Hall at the Hawaii Convention Center. In keeping with this year’s theme, the ADA is inviting registrants to visit one of the “RE” lounges to regroup, retreat and re-energize. Visitors can stroll in the Best of Class Aisle and congratulate the winners of the 2018 Cellerant Best of Class Technology Award Winners.
The ADA continuing education team has worked hard all year to put together a diverse and extensive schedule of courses. Course highlights include the Digital Future of Dentistry, Women in Dentistry, Campfire Sessions and the team building track.
Good airfares to ADA 2018 Honolulu are still available. For lowest fares, search for flights arriving in Honolulu a few days before the meeting and/or leaving a few days after the meeting — to enjoy extra time on the islands.
For those concerned that they’ll have to scramble to find a place to stay, the ADA has arranged reduced rates with multiple hotels on Oahu exclusively for annual meeting attendees. Visit ADA.org/ADA18Hotels for a list of participating hotels and resorts. Shuttle service will run to and from the Hawaii Convention Center.
For those planning a side trip from the meeting, it’s relatively easy to get to the other Hawaiian islands. Learn more about exploring Hawaii here.
Don’t want to leave the family for a week? Bring them, too. Courses will end and the Exhibit Hall will close at 3 p.m. every day, giving ample time to hang 10 on the North Shore or hike to Diamond Head.
