Sweet support: From left, dental hygienist Roger Heitkamp, dental assistants Brenda Serrano and Rene Seabolt, and Dr. Praveen Gudipati of Cumming Dental Smiles in Cumming, Ga., show off the more than 350 pounds of Halloween candy they collected for U.S. troops as part of the national Halloween Candy Buy Back program. The program takes place at dental offices across the country as a way to reduce children’s candy consumption and support troops who are serving overseas. The candy Cumming Dental Smiles received from local schools, subdivisions and neighbors will go to Move America Forward and Operation Shoebox, which will send the treats, along with letters written by children who donated, to troops during the holiday season.
