The Journal of the American Dental Association is getting a new associate editor.
Dr. Carol Anne Murdoch-Kinch succeeds Dr. Douglas E. Peterson as the associate editor for dentistry and medicine. Dr. Peterson stepped down in December from the role.
Dr. Murdoch-Kinch, a dentist with a Ph.D., is the associate dean for academic affairs at the University of Michigan School of Dentistry. She was also chosen in 2017 from a nationwide pool to be the Dr. Walter H. Swartz Professor of Integrated Special Care Dentistry at the University of Michigan, a position in which she works to develop treatment protocols for patients with special needs.
She has served on the ADA Council on Scientific Affairs and is the representative for the American Dental Education Association to the Joint Advisory Committee on Dental Education Information, a joint committee of ADEA, the Commission on Dental Accreditation and the ADA Council on Dental Education and Licensure.
She earned a D.D.S. from Dalhousie University Faculty of Dentistry in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, and a Ph.D. in dental science from Indiana University.
