May 09, 2019 Organizers of Great Shape!'s 1000 Smiles dental humanitarian projects in the Caribbean are recruiting volunteers for trips from July through September.

There is need for dentists, hygienists, dental assistants and nonmedical volunteers for trips to St. Lucia and Grenada with Great Shape!, as well as a need for dentists to supervise dental students in Jamaica.

Great Shape! Inc. is a U.S.-based nonprofit that operates the 1000 Smiles volunteer dental projects in St Lucia, Jamaica and Grenada. Now in its 17th year, it is the world’s largest international humanitarian volunteer dental program with more than 570 volunteers annually.

Volunteers are needed in St. Lucia between July 27 and Aug. 5 and Grenada from Aug. 8 - 17.

Services provided may include X-ray examinations, cleanings, fillings, extractions, sealants, root canals, dentures and oral health education.

Dentists are also needed in Jamaica to supervise students from various universities from the United States and Canada for one-week stints between Aug. 23 and Sept. 22.

All-inclusive accommodations at Sandals Resorts and in-country transportation are included, compliments of a partnership with the Sandals Foundation.
