After more than 20 years, the American Dental Association and FDI World Dental Federation are once again combining forces to host a joint dental meeting. The last time was in 1996 in Orlando, Florida.

"How will this meeting be different from an ADA annual meeting or an FDI World Dental Congress? The unparalleled educational program will offer the full scope of lectures, workshops and hands-on courses from both organizations," ADA President Jeffrey M. Cole, ADA Advisory Committee on Annual Meetings General Chair C. Roger Macias Jr., FDI President Kathryn Kell and FDI Education Committee Chair Jürgen Fedderwitz said in a statement to attendees.

The congress is an opportunity for dental professionals from around the world to mingle while exploring the Exhibit Hall and participating in networking events, giving them extra opportunities to learn from their dental colleagues.

The leaders also encouraged attendees to take advantage of everything the host city of San Francisco has to offer.

"Rich in natural beauty, arts, entertainment and multicultural attractions, San Francisco is an ideal site for this historic joint meeting. Explore the city's fascinating neighborhoods or head out to nearby redwood forests, charming Sausalito or wine country," they said. "Thank you for joining us at the World Dental Congress –– you're part of something extraordinary."
