Connecticut Foundation for Dental Outreach postpones Mission of Mercy dental clinic amid coronavirus concerns

The Connecticut Foundation for Dental Outreach has postponed the Connecticut Mission of Mercy Free Dental Clinic scheduled for March 20-21 in Danbury, Connecticut, "out of abundant caution" amid the coronavirus disease outbreak.
The foundation is in the process of identifying a date to reschedule the clinic, and interested parties should check the Connecticut Foundation for Dental Outreach website
As of March 10, there were 696 cases of coronavirus disease, or COVID-19, in the U.S., according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention
. Two cases were reported in Connecticut as of March 10, including a man being treated at Danbury Hospital, according to local media reports.
The two-day Connecticut Mission of Mercy clinic provides free dental care to those who are underserved and uninsured in Connecticut. The clinic takes place each year in a different location in the state. It previously was in Danbury in 2012 and 2015.
The foundation, in collaboration with the Connecticut State Dental Association, held the first clinic in 2008.
