The ADA FDC Virtual Connect Conference — the American Dental Association's first virtual annual meeting — attracted 5,191 attendees between Oct. 15 and 17.

The virtual conference brought a live and on-demand experience to dental professionals looking to learn and network in a safe and convenient environment. Live webinar views totaled 23,234 over the three days of the conference, and participants accessed on-demand content 132,185 times.

Programming included live evening sessions on COVID-19's impact on dentistry, the essentialism of oral health and the third-party payer landscape, as well as continuing education that covered liabilities related to COVID-19, current clinical topics in dentistry, ways dental practices are growing during the pandemic, and more.

Country music group Lady A helped kick off ADA FDC 2020 with a virtual concert Oct. 15, and virtual community meetups Oct. 16 and 17 featured a book club, beer and wine tastings, and trivia. Other activities included a virtual 5K/10K, fitness boot camp, morning yoga and sessions covering mindfulness, guided breathing and nutrition.

The Virtual Exhibit Hall was open 24/7 and featured some of the winners of the 2020 Cellerant Best of Class Technology Awards, which recognize innovative products that set the standard of quality in their respective categories and manufacturers who are pushing the envelope and reimagining how dental offices will operate in the future.

Those who registered for the All-Access Pass for ADA FDC 2020 can access content on demand through Dec. 31. Because of high interest in the on-demand content, anyone who was not able to participate during the live conference can still gain access by purchasing the All-Access Pass through Dec. 18. To purchase the pass, visit SmileCon.org.
