How Are Accountable Care Organizations (ACOs) Approaching Dental Care Services?

(March 2016 - 54 min)

In a new report, The Dartmouth Institute for Health Policy & Clinical Practice, in collaboration with the ADA Health Policy Institute, examines dental care inclusion within Accountable Care Organizations (ACOs). The analysis is based on a comprehensive national survey of ACOs managed by The Dartmouth Institute and focuses on how often dental care is included within ACOs, what dental care services are included, and the factors driving ACO decisions regarding oral health. As the health care system moves toward a more integrated, collaborative model, there are opportunities to re-examine where oral health might fit into this new paradigm.
