COVID-19 is putting enormous pressure on the U.S. health care system. Within dentistry, the impact has been different in private practices and public health settings. This webinar brought together thought leaders in health policy and experts in public health. In this webinar, Marko Vujicic presented an overview of new poll data from HPI on how dentists in public health settings are adjusting during the COVID-19 pandemic and how this compares to private practice. The discussion also covered wide-ranging topics like how state fiscal pressures will impact Medicaid policy, how scope of practice within healthcare might change, how dental care capacity within FQHCs might be affected and what policy options states should consider to mitigate any negative effects.
