Washington — The Federal COVID-19 Healthcare Resilience Working Group has launched the Rural Healthcare Surge Readiness web portal, a new online tool offering resources and information for health care providers, including dentists, in rural communities.
The new portal enables rural health care workers and entities to “quickly find" the information they need to prepare for or respond to surge events as well as how to navigate financial challenges related to the pandemic. It also contains a number of additional resources, including behavioral health resources and information on avoiding burnout for workers on the front lines of COVID-19.
To access, visit ruralhealthinfo.org/healthcare-surge-readiness and choose the “providers and healthcare workers” tab to navigate to the most applicable resources for dentists and dental team members.
The Rural Health Information Hub will also be holding a Twitter chat on Aug. 26 at 1 p.m. ET to discuss the pandemic’s impact on rural health care facilities and learn about strategies to combat a COVID-19 surge in rural communities. To participate, use the hashtags #RuralHealthChat and #RuralHealthReady to tweet with experts around the country.
