The World Dental Congress is a flagship event for FDI, strengthening ties and fostering collaboration within the global oral health community. The FDI World Dental Congress, held in a different country every year, offers an opportunity to meet with leaders of the oral health profession from around the globe.
FDI World Dental Federation comprised about 200 national dental associations, including the ADA, from more than 130 countries. It represents the voice of over one million dentists worldwide. The early-bird registration deadline is May 31.
The 2020 meeting is scheduled for Sept. 1-4 in Shanghai.
A 2019 novel coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak was first identified in Wuhan, China, which is about 430 miles from Shanghai. The FDI issued a statement Feb. 24: “The safety and security of all those taking part in FDI’s World Dental Congress is always our primary concern. We continue to monitor developments in China and are in close contact with our local partners to assess the situation daily. Currently, the congress is scheduled to take place as planned as we anticipate the situation will be under control by this time. We will keep you updated of any changes.”
