Learning, social opportunities abound at ADA FDC 2020

The ADA FDC Annual Meeting will "harness the power of connection" by bringing together the American Dental Association and Florida Dental Association for a joint meeting Oct. 15-18 in Orlando, Florida.

Registration opens April 22 for the meeting, which will offer a variety of learning and social opportunities for dentists and their teams to enjoy.

"This year's theme is 'Harness the Power of Connection,' and ADA FDC 2020 will deliver many chances to connect with our professional community," said Dr. Nan Tertel, general chair of the meeting. "Both organizations are working together to plan an entirely new meeting for attendees to experience, while keeping the excitement and expectations of both meetings that attendees have come to love."

Continuing education courses will cover topics such as elder care, endodontics, practice management and implants and include recommended course tracks such as restorative dentistry, hygiene therapies and business office management. Highlights include the ADA Dental Sleep Medicine Conference, Women in Dentistry Leadership Series and the Best of the ADA.

"The wide selection of thought-provoking CE courses that are available, curated programs like the Women in Dentistry Leadership Series and the New Dentist Conference — both designed with those groups in mind — are all sure to inspire and provide attendees the opportunity to learn, grow and network with their peers," Dr. Tertel said.

ADA FDC 2020 also will have courses to support dentists' mental and physical health, helping them to return to their offices reenergized, she said.

CE will extend to the Digital Future of Dentistry and ADA Practice Excellence areas of the Exhibit Hall as well, where the focus will be on technology and practice needs. Hundreds of exhibitors will be at the Orange County Convention Center for attendees to experience the latest in dental technology and services.
Members and their guests will have plenty of opportunities to unwind and network when they have exclusive access Oct. 15 to Universal Orlando Resort's Islands of Adventure theme park, which features part of the Wizarding World of "Harry Potter" attraction and the dinosaurs of "Jurassic Park."

In addition to Universal, the city of Orlando — known as the "theme park capital of the world" — is home to Walt Disney World Resort, SeaWorld Orlando and the Legoland Florida Resort, and the fun extends to its dining, shopping and nightlife districts too, including the Universal CityWalk, Central Business District, Disney Springs, International Drive and Restaurant Row.

ADA FDC 2020 also will feature more than 100 social events organized by dental school alumni and professional fraternities. Additional networking opportunities exist at the New Dentist Conference and Women in Dentistry Leadership Series.
