The ADA Publishing unveiled in December new webpages for four award-winning and well-respected publications — ADA News, The Journal of the American Dental Association, Dental Practice Success and the New Dentist News, giving the journal and magazines a greater presence online.
“Each of these publications has its own identity and mission but, ultimately, they have a shared goal of supporting ADA member success,” said Michelle Hoffman, ADA Publishing vice president. “We invite members to visit each of these websites for the latest news in dentistry, for the most recent clinical advances, and for insights into how to launch, grow and manage their practices.”
The No. 1 source of news and information about the dental profession, the ADA News launched its more user-friendly and intuitive website. Established in 1970 as the official newspaper of the American Dental Association, the ADA News serves practicing dentists and others allied to the dental profession in the U.S. and internationally.
Updated several times a week, the ADA News website, ADA.org/adanews, offers the latest information on scientific, social, political and economic developments affecting dentistry in between print issues. It offers a featured story and access to MyViews columns, opinions and archived stories.
To keep members up to date with the latest scientific information, the JADA landing page, ADA.org/en/publications/jada, highlights articles in the current issue of The Journal of the American Dental Association. It also features the JADA For the Patient handout, the JADA CE program and JADA+ Clinical Scans.
Dental Practice Success, a quarterly digital magazine that ADA members receive via email, will now be offering members the latest practice management tips and advice between issues via its new website, ADA.org/DPS.
The ADA, in cooperation with the ADA Center for Professional Success, launched DPS in the summer of 2014. DPS publishes articles from well-known practice management experts and thought leaders in dentistry. This publication is designed to offer advice to busy dentists on the many aspects of running a small business in order to enhance their careers and their personal satisfaction. DPS covers a wide range of topics, including business management; finance; staff management and development; office design and technology; customer service; dental benefits; opening, expanding or selling a practice; marketing and social media; retirement; ergonomics; well-being; and work-life balance.
In addition to its quarterly digital issues, DPS has also featured special issues on office design, regulatory compliance, marketing and radiography systems.
The ADA New Dentist News website gives the decades-old quarterly print publication a home online. The new website seeks to provide new dentists and dental students content in between print issues and in a more frequent basis. Topics range from practice management and finances to avoiding burnout and trends in the profession.
Created by new dentist leaders more than 22 years ago, the quarterly print supplement to the ADA News has undergone several iterations. A 2019 redesign turned the print publication from a four-page tabloid wrap into a more modern and visual eight-page magazine. The New Dentist News website provides a home for individual stories published in the print publication, along with additional content covering the issues unique and relevant to the new dentist experience.
